Le Domaine des Braves

History

The Domaine des Braves has a rich and fascinating history, having belonged to the Cinquin family for five generations. Paul Cinquin, nicknamed “Paulo,” was a pioneer of hot pre-fermentation maceration, also known as thermovinification. He is also a key figure in the cycling world. In this capacity, he organized a cycling race called “Les retrouvailles” in Régnié, which brought together many international professional cyclists in honor of Paul Gutty.

A Family Story

Victor Gentien

co-manager of Domaine des Braves

After graduating from ISARA-Lyon with a degree in agricultural engineering in 2018, Victor specialized in viticulture, earning his national degree in oenology in 2020. He then decided to train in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a region renowned for the quality of its Grenache grapes. This experience as an assistant winemaker allowed him to develop a meticulous approach to both vineyard management and winemaking.

Eugénie Gentien

Co-manager of Domaine des Braves

A graduate of Sciences Po, Eugénie wasn’t destined for a career in the wine industry. She discovered it alongside Victor as soon as they met, and especially since 2022, when Victor took over Domaine des Braves with a business partner.

In 2022, Victor took over the estate with a partner, seizing the opportunity to work with Gamay—a grape variety in which he has a keen interest—seeing in it the potential to produce both approachable, enjoyable wines and refined, complex ones. In 2026, the estate returned to family ownership, as Victor now manages it with his wife, Eugénie.

Le Domaine des Braves: a place of conviviality

Beyond their commitment to producing high-quality wines, Victor and Eugénie are also passionate about creating moments of togetherness centered around their wines.

In an authentic and welcoming setting, the estate welcomes you for all kinds of events—whether with family, friends, or colleagues (bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, birthdays, seminars, and team-building activities).

The estate offers a variety of services that can be tailored to your preferences:

  • Tastings accompanied by a Beaujolais mâchon
  • Winery Tours
  • Lunches (spit-roasted ham, braiser, or catered meals)
