The Plateau des Braves: land of granite<\/h2>\n

The Domaine des Braves covers approximately 13 hectares, primarily within the R\u00e9gni\u00e9 appellation, but also within the Chiroubles and Morgon appellations.<\/p>\n

The vineyards in R\u00e9gni\u00e9 are located within a small area, the Plateau des Braves, which features heavily weathered granite soils. Part of the vineyard is situated on the western slope of this plateau, where granite rock outcrops at the surface. To the east, clay soils give the grapes a different aromatic profile. The vineyards in Chiroubles and Morgon are also planted on granite soils, but at a higher elevation, which lends these wines a refreshing quality. <\/p>\n

The vast majority of the vines are trained using the traditional goblet method. The average age of the vines on the property is around 40 years, with some vines reaching up to 80 years. <\/p>\n

The estate also grows 1 hectare of Beaujolais Blanc, planted on granite soils that bring out atypical Chardonnay profiles.<\/p>\n

Gamay, a multi-faceted grape variety<\/h2>\n

During the winemaking process, the estate strives to combine tradition and modernity in order to bring out all the qualities and potential of Gamay.
Depending on the desired wine profile, winemaking practices are adapted accordingly: type of maceration, percentage of destemming, maceration times, etc.
Each plot is vinified according to the winemakers\u2019 judgment, taking into account its potential and the climatic conditions of the vintage.
Following vinification, various types of containers are used for aging: stainless steel tanks, concrete tanks, and 500-liter demi-muids.<\/p>\n
